The Goldsmiths’ Centre Exhibition Spotlights Emerging Jewellery and Silversmithing Talent

From 12 January to 18 February 2026, we will host Spotlighting Getting Started at the Goldsmiths' Centre, a free public exhibition championing the work of fifteen emerging jewellers and silversmiths. Showcasing over fifty handcrafted pieces, the exhibition highlights a diverse range of contemporary practices - from Japonisme-inspired motifs and ocean forms captured in metal, to reclaimed optical glass transformed,  gemstone-led construction and innovative stone-setting.

All exhibitors participated in our Getting Started Online business training programme in 2025. Following the course, they were invited to apply for the Spotlighting Getting Started exhibition and follow-on training, with selections made by a panel of experts, including jewellery journalist Rachael Taylor, fine jeweller Darren Sherwood of Mr Sherwood and members of our team.

Charlotte Dew, our Head of Public Programmes, explains:

“Spotlighting Getting Started provides UK-based early career makers with the chance to translate their learning into real-world practice. Through a series of assignments, participants build core professional skills - such as interview preparation, effective photography, and promoting their work online. Each year, we see their confidence grow, helping them expand their businesses and present their work at events across the UK and internationally.”

This year’s exhibitors include: Amelia Appleby, Beth Chesser, Deniz Turan, Emily Bailey, Emilia Belderbos, Ella Bonomi, Estelle Burton, Fabien Y. Marcque, Finlay Grant, Helen Dugdale, Jessica Awari-Tefé, Joey Zhong, Liu Yang, Lois Lo and Militsa Milenkova.

Jewellery and silversmithing enthusiasts can also meet several of the makers through online Meet the Maker events. On Wednesday 18 February 2026, hear from early career jewellers Ella Bonomi, Emilia Balderbos, Estelle Burton and Militsa Milenkova followed by a second session on Thursday 12 March 2026 featuring Finlay Grant, Jessica Awari-Tefé, Fabien Y Marque and Emily Bailey. These live conversations offer valuable insight into each maker’s practice, inspiration, and creative development, while giving audiences the chance to support emerging talent.
