Ella Bonomi is a British-Nigerian jeweller and designer based in London. Her journey into jewellery began when she took an elective in jewellery metalsmithing while studying communication design and illustration in the United States. She went on to work in the media industry as a motion designer and illustrator for companies including Paramount and BBC News. Several years later, while visiting Venice, Ella watched a Murano glassmaker transform molten glass into a sculptural horse. Witnessing the craftsmanship, creativity and immediacy of the process rekindled her desire to make with her hands. She subsequently returned to education to study jewellery at Morley College London, supported by the De Beers Group Scholarship in 2023. Ella’s work has since been recognised with two Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council Awards and selection for the Goldsmiths' Centre's Spotlighting Getting Started exhibition.

Ella’s Splash collection captures the essence of water through sculptural jewellery, freezing fleeting moments of movement in precious metal. Inspired by the way water swells, stretches, breaks and interacts with the world around it, each piece preserves a transient moment in time, translating it into a lasting sculptural form. Beginning with hand-carved and built-up wax forms, the making process mirrors the collection's inspiration, allowing fluid gestures to be shaped before each piece is cast in precious metal. Flowing silhouettes and contrasting textures explore the dualities inherent in water: calm and turbulence, softness and strength, stillness and motion. As the collection unfolds, abstract explorations of movement gradually evolve into marine life emerging from the flow itself, celebrating the beauty, energy, and ever-changing nature of water, and the life it sustains.
