The Goldsmiths’ Centre, a London-based charity supporting the UK’s jewellery and silversmithing industry to create, learn and grow, has today announced the 13 designer-makers selected for Shine 2026, its annual training programme designed to equip new talent with the business skills, confidence and a platform to successfully launch and to promote new collections.
Through its business support programmes, the Goldsmiths' Centre helps jewellers and silversmiths develop the commercial knowledge, practical skills and industry networks they need to adapt, grow and build resilient, independent businesses. It's free, part-time Shine programme provides participants with specialist training in presenting and promoting their work, including photography, video content, visual merchandising and communicating the story behind their collections. With its public launch on Wednesday, 16th September 2026, the programme culminates with an event at the Goldsmiths’ Centre near Farringdon station, where collectors, design enthusiasts and members of the public can meet the makers, discover the stories behind their work and purchase directly from some of the UK's most exciting new jewellery and silversmithing newcomers. The collections then remain on display in a free exhibition and an e-commerce showcase available to buy both at the Goldsmiths' Centre and online until 18 December 2026.
Selected through an open call by guest judges Rachael Taylor and Darren Sherwood, this year’s Shine 2026 cohort is Amber Cooper, Annie Higgins, Beth Chesser (LEVEE Jewellery), Ella Bonomi, Epona Smith, Helen Dugdale, Helena Palmeira, Jade Mellor,
Liu Yang, Mark Eames, Matilde Mozzanega (Matilde Mozzanega Jewellery), Militsa Milenkova and Rachael Plassard.
Charlotte Dew, Head of Public Programmes at the Goldsmiths' Centre, said:
"Making exceptional jewellery or silverware is only one part of building a successful creative business. Shine gives emerging makers the practical skills, confidence and visibility they need to launch new collections, connect with customers and build sustainable careers. It is particularly rewarding to see participants grow not only as designers but also as business owners ready to take their work to market."
Previous participants have gone on to secure prestigious opportunities across the sector, including selection for the Goldsmiths' Fair Emerging Business Bursary and recognition from leading galleries, retailers and industry professionals. Throughout the exhibition, audiences will be able to explore a series of short films and interviews, offering a behind-the-scenes insight into the next generation of contemporary jewellery and silversmithing talent.
Admission to the opening night is free, but advance booking is essential. Spaces are limited, and visitors are encouraged to reserve their place before Sunday 6 September 2026 at 5pm. Tickets will be available via the Goldsmiths’ Centre website from Wednesday, 12 August 2026. If you would like to receive an official invitation, please email info@goldsmiths-centre.org.
