In this Masterclass film, silversmith Richard Cook, who has hand forged cutlery for over thirty years, demonstrates his forging skills. The film takes you through the annealing process, the various stages of forging as the metal grows and changes its shape, to the finishing point where the cutlery is sent for assaying and polishing.

This training film is designed for use by students, apprentices and those interested in the craft of hand forging silver and it provides an introduction to the techniques involved.
