Description of The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Awards Annual 2024/25

The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Awards Annual is published yearly following each Craftsmanship & Design Awards.

The 2024/25 Goldsmiths’ Competition comprised of 33 competition sections and 13 other special, major and premier awards across 2D and 3D craft and design categories. This annual presents all the award winners that were selected by expert industry judges from over 1,600 section entries, with a selection of photographs showcasing the award-winning work, including the Jacques Cartier Memorial Award.

The Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council is a non-profit-making organisation founded over one hundred years ago in 1908. Today, the Council continues working to its original remit: "To encourage, stimulate and promote the pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship and design amongst all those in the United Kingdom who work within silversmithing, goldsmithing, jewellery and the allied crafts." The core of the Council’s work is focused on the promotion of excellence through its prestigious annual craftsmanship and design Competition, Awards Ceremony and Exhibition that takes place at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and Goldsmiths’ Hall.

The annual features two articles by contributing writers Kathryn Bishop and Ruth Faulkner, alongside a profile and overview of the inspiring career of Gay Penfold, the recipient of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award.
