Description of An Introduction to Rapid Prototyping

Rapid prototyping (RP) is a technique for the production of solid objects from computer models. The variety of RP devices and materials is increasing all the time. In this Masterclass film, the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre (JIIC) in Birmingham demonstrates the processes of CAD design, through production of the RP model, and its investment and casting in silver.

This training film is one of a series, designed for use by students, apprentices and those interested in jewellery, silversmithing and the allied crafts. It provides an introduction to the equipment and processes involved in rapid prototyping within the context of our industry.
